I-35 Speedway, the 3/8 mile high banked track, saw another 102 racers in action this past weekend. As the points season winds down for the local tracks there remains the national point battles in the United States Racing Association (USRA). The A Mods, B Mods, and Stock Cars all are in a point’s battle for the track championship and for the National Title. I-35 Speedway has races scheduled every weekend through October 24, giving racers an opportunity to collect track and national points, except for October 17 when the USRA Nationals will be held.

Top USRA A Mod national point racers competing for these national points at I-35 Speedway this past weekend included national A Mod point leader Terry Schultz, Dennis Elliott ninth in national points and current track point leader, Darron Fuqua 15th in national points, and Darren Shaw, 26th in national points and third in track points but in a tight battle with John Hanson, Houston Johnson, and Austin Johnson for that spot.

Top USRA Stock Car national point racers competing for these national points at I-35 Speedway this past weekend included Dean Wray 3rd in national points and current track point leader, Brett Heeter 4th in national points, Thomas Roberts 11th in national points and second in track points, and John Boller Jr. 16th in national points and third in track points.

Top USRA B Mod national point racers competing for these national points at I-35 Speedway this past weekend included national B Mod point leader Andy Bryant, Ed Noll 10th in national points, and Tim Eaton 13th in national points and current track point leader.

Over the next four weeks of racing there will be numerous drivers in the national points stop by and compete at I-35 Speedway. Owners Mike and Kyle Johnson are making this all possible by extending their season to accommodate racers and fans.

In the non-sanctioned classes the E Mods are led in points by John Brown, the Hobby Stocks is a battle between Mich Ross and Carson Masoner, and Donnie Brown has overtaken Buz Kaster by 2 points in the Grand National class.

As for the racing on September 19 congrats to winning drivers, Zach Sanders, Clint Baker, John Brown, Donnie Brown, Mich Ross, Tom Brown, Dean Wray, and make up MLS feature winner Paden Moreland.

Of the four weeks of racing remaining, the McCarthy Autogroup 6th Annual Show Me Spectacular will occur on October 10th. This race event features the USRA A Mods ($2,000 to win), USRA B Mods ($1,000 to win), the E Mods ($500 to win), the Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints ($1,000 to win), and Non-Wing Sprint Cars ($1,200 to win). There is great racing to continue through October 24 at I-35 Speedway make plans to be a part of it.
